Loreen, Joyce, Myra and Alice from the NHS Retirement Fellowship (NHSRF) were joined by groundsman Bob Christie and environmental manager Rachel Roberts outside Ashgrove House at Foresterhill Health Campus recently to plant three tree saplings. The NHSRF is a charity that welcomes everyone who has worked in health or social care – and their partners – to make friends, join monthly meetings, and benefit from a wide range of guest speakers, outings and activities.

They first planted trees on the grounds last year as part of the Queen's Canopy and Woodland Trust Initiative and are now pleased to be supporting the NHS Grampian Climate Emergency and Sustainability Strategy.

Talking about the benefits of joining the NHSRF, Loreen commented: "I've met a lot of new people I didn't know before, and seen places I hadn't been to. It's good for mental health, meeting once a month and chatting with friends. I didn't train or work at the hospital, I worked in the community so I have met people and I've learned a lot about Aberdeen."

NHSRF is always pleased to welcome new members and you can find out more at https://nhsrf.org.uk (under 'Join Us/ Branch Finder'), on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/117538834934279 or phone the Aberdeen Branch Secretary Joyce Brown on 07792680726.
