A pilot Youth Forum was successfully started in 2013 within Aberdeen City and an event was successfully held in June 2014.
Don't Worry Be Healthy Event Success
Over 40 S4-S6 pupils, accompanied by guidance teaching staff, attended our first ever youth forum event at Curl Aberdeen. The event was supported by Aberdeen City Council and ACVO (Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations).
The event was a mix of information stands, activities and presentations covering:
mental health, sexual health, substance misuse, smoking, health information, volunteering, school nursing, hand hygiene, young people's rights, healthy relationships, NHS careers, young carers, yoga taster and relaxation sessions.
The NHS Grampian Youth Forum was re-launched in August 2015 within Aberdeen City working with partners such as Community Learning and Development and The Scottish Health Council. The group meet monthly at different venues within the city and their main purpose is mental health and wellbeing for young people.
The first Aberdeenshire Youth Forum was launched in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning & Development. The group meets once a month in Inverurie and their main purpose is mental health and wellbeing for young people.
We are looking for young people from the age of 14 to 25 years to join the NHS Grampian Youth Forum.
The Purpose of the NHS Grampian Youth Forum is:
Having your say about local NHS service for young people
Sharing ideas to promote health and well being
Making a difference ? campaign on key issues and influence decision making
Increase your knowledge of the NHS (Personal Statement)
