Domestic Abuse - are you, or someone you know, at risk?

What is this?

An act of harm experienced by anyone, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner who may or may not live with you.

What is harm?

Harmful behaviours can be sexual, physical, psychological, threatening, controlling and coercive (including over finances). ‘Harm’ does not need to leave a physical mark; if you feel threatened, scared or forced into doing something you are not comfortable with or if it ‘feels’ wrong, it probably is wrong.

Children who witness ‘harm’ to another person are at risk of being emotionally and psychologically harmed.

Below is a list of organisations which will listen and offer confidential help and advice. You do not have to give your name if you do not wish to do so.
